The Trade Union delegation offered incense and flowers at the Memorial Stele of the Vietnam Army and the Vietnam Arms Trade Union on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of National Defence Day, 75 years of the establishment of the Vietnamese People’s Army.
On November 23, 2019, the delegation of Trade Union of 21 Chemical Co., Ltd. led by Senior Lieutenant Colonel Chu Viet Son – Secretary of the Party Committee – Chairman of the Company offered incense, offering flowers at the Historical Resistance War Zone of General Department of Defence Industry and National Defence Trade Union to the General Department of Defence and the National Defence Trade Union Committee (belonging to Pac San 2 Village, Yen Dinh Commune, Cho Moi District, Bac Can Province). Where the Military Department, the forerunner of the General Department of Defence Industry and the Vietnam Arms Union, the forerunner of today’s National Defence Trade Union was stationed and active for many years during the resistance war against the French colonialists.
The leaders – commanders and Trade Union delegation of 21 Chemical Co., Ltd. – General Department of Defence Industry, was heart-stirring and proud to present respectfully the Heroic Martyrs of the Viet Nam Army with fresh flowers and report to the predecessor the achievements that the officials and Union members of 21 Chemical Co., Ltd. have achieved over the years.
… According to the decision of the Central Transportation Commission, the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labor advocates to unify the Viet Nam Arms Trade Union into a nationwide branch under the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labor. The conference to establish the Viet Nam Arms Trade Union opened at 13:00 on March 6th, 1949 in Pac San 2 Village, Yen Dinh Commune, Cho Moi District, Bac Can Province. In 1950-1951, the arms manufacturing industry of the whole country developed strongly, including more than 40 thousand workers and employees with 345 workshops. Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet (President of the General Confederation of Labor at that time) affirmed: “The Viet Nam Arms Trade Union is the pillar bed of the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labor”. The war against the French colonialists ended successfully, the Viet Nam Arms Trade Union completed its historic mission. From 1945 to 1958, grassroots-level trade unions operated under the direction of the Local Confederation of Labor.
To remember the great merits of Heroic Martyrs of many generations of the Army who produced weapons to build up and to promote traditional educational propaganda for the next generation to promote the Military tradition and the Viet Nam Arms Trade Union. In 2015, the Party Committee, Head of the General Department of Defence Industry and the National Defence Trade Union Committee decided to build and expand the Memorial Stele complex project in Pac San 2 Village, Yen Dinh Commune, Cho Moi District, Bac Can Province to serve the needs of traditional visit of cadres, soldiers and people. The work was built on an area of 1.911m2.
